There’s nothing special about being born. Not a thing. Most of the universe is just death, nothing more. In this universe of ours, the birth of a new life on some corner of our planet is nothing but a tiny, insignificant flash. Death is a normal thing. So why live?
please listen to this poor man losing his shit as he reads an article blaming millenials for killing the mayonnaise industry that was written by a babyboomer upset people don’t want to eat her bland salads anymore
Every single year the same things happens in Greece, every damn summer our country is burned, people lose their houses and families, then no one cares and the cycle repeats.
Its not just a weather issue, there is always a greater evil hidden behind all of this and nothing changes.
Last year my house almost burned, we were lucky on the last minute but I can still remember the fear of the people around me, running around and trying to help, the panicked animals and the sickening anxiety that I might lose my house and my cat.
Funny how when people think about Greece all they talk about is our economic crisis and shitty politicians (and even dare to act like they know everything about those matters), yet for some strange reason, when it comes to the refugee crisis, the tensions with Turkey or the fire catastrophes, silence ensues.
I’m positive that if it were a stronger country or a “popular” one getting burned, everyone would magically transform into Mother Teresa and pray, cry and reblog everything they can.
But no, this is Greece, the “joke of Europe”, or, as all fandoms here know it, “that one ancient country with the really cool mythology and gods”. No future or innocent people to worry about, right?
Model AU with renown fashion model Yuuri who still doesn’t understand how beautiful he is and famous photographer Victor
-World class fashion model Yuuri Katsuki who is known for his unique charm and innocent sex appeal gets embarrassed whenever he walks past a billboard of himself. He always wears a face mask in public when he’s off the clock.
-He stumbled upon modeling in college, when a scout was in his university one day and, finding potential in Yuuri underneath the plain and frumpy clothes, recruits him.
-The concept of Yuuri modeling anything is absurd, but he’s desperate for money with little other options, so he agrees.
-As it turns out, his grace from ballet made him a natural in posing, and his expressiveness is apparently appealing enough that people wanted to hire him instead of shun him for not smoldering like a real model.
(Which is good, because Yuuri has no idea what he’s doing. He can only try to be as honest as possible.)
-He gets more and more offers and eventually reaches world wide popularity.
-He doesn’t understand, but he’ll take what he can get.
-It’s not exactly a dream job. He’s required to take care of his appearance at all times, the people who hire him can be very demanding, and he’s had to do some… embarrassing things as a model. Not to mention, it can be tiring to hide his face in public and fumble through a conversation with strangers who somehow recognize him.
He’s not sure why he’s so popular, either. He’s not particularly good looking, and he knows nothing about fashion besides looking presentable. it was only because of the great make up artists and stylists and a huge amount of luck did he get this far. Soon enough, people will realize this, and he’ll fade into obscurity. Everyone will wonder what they ever saw in him. Or he’ll falter and humiliate himself on the runway in front of thousands of people.
But since he was making a really, really good sum of money, a lot of which goes back to support his family and home town, he keeps the job while he can. He still goes to college so he has something to fall back on once it’s over.
-(What he doesn’t say is, underneath all the stress and unwanted attention, modeling is actually… kind of fun. It makes him feel beautiful and confident, if only for a moment before the illusion is broken, when he remembers he’s just Yuuri Katsuki, complete mess of a human being, not even a hot one.)
-Then there’s Victor, a famous celebrity photographer who’s forgotten how to live outside his job.
-He’s always mistaken as a model in photo shoots and often told he’s wasting his good looks. People have offered modeling jobs before, but he’s always turned them down. He’s talented enough that he can get away with it.
-The camera has always been his passion, and he’s dedicated everything to it until he has nothing to give anywhere else. It loses its spark, but he keeps at it because it’s all he knows.
-He first sees Yuuri on a magazine.
There’s something about the way poses and holds himself that make it seem like he could jump out of the page and take you dancing in any moment. Victor’s hand itches to capture all that life, give it the justice it deserves.
Unlike other models, Yuuri does not smolder or act neutral. He smiles,
he winks, he laughs, he flirts with his eyes, inviting Victor to be
alive in a way he never thought he could be.
He gets on his laptop and reads, watches and orders everything he can about Yuuri Katsuki.
Later that night, he calls Celestino Cialdini for a photoshoot offer.
-In public, he praises Yuuri Katsuki and expresses interest in working with him. In private, he plans their wedding and asks Makkachin for a second opinion.
-Victor’s been numb
and depressed so he desperately latches onto anything that
makes him feel something. Yuuri is a flash of color in a sea of gray,
and he’s inevitably drawn.
He’s not truly in love with Yuuri yet. He’s in love with his presence, his honest emotion and unique charm. He hasn’t met the
wonderfully earnest and thoughtful man who’ll turn his world upside down and give it color.
For now he’ll keep moving
forward with his camera for the boy with shining, expressive eyes.
